Odd Entities brings forth 6 new and 3 previously released (but now updated) tracks. MagiTek maintains its roots, but develops and fuses new styles into the mix. This transition came from more of a hip hop influence, as well as performing live and becoming a 4 person group. This EP contains a variety of sounds, from what one could call "breakbeat industrial", to "crunky", to something just....strange. Overall, we feel it's a nice step forward, with much more to come.

Hope you enjoy the dimensional rhythm.

Today I hurt my elbow. Not badly. It's just oozing blood and stuff. So I called out today at work.

I'm going through two Castlevania games at once. I must really hate Dracula.

My van got smashed in a hit and run accident last month. It's perfectly functional, but looks like shit. My insurence will pay for most of it, but I'm gonna have to miss work to get it fixed. Lovely.

I can't believe how fast MagiTek work is getting done. It won't be long now. Odd Entities are right around the corner.

Tongue Mother work has slowed down a bit lately, but that will pick up full steam once Odd Entities is done.

I got alot of side stuff on my plate too. MagiTek just finished a collab with Majin Wreck, IllGill, Skeletor, and Pilaf for Here Comes a New Challenger II Turbo. It's fun. I also got a collab going with attack slug and Peppermint Pony for that comp in the works. I got a track in the works with Kincade and Don Vito for the Hatcore comp cooking. Then three tracks for Mad Hatter's ADD comp.

So yeah....this is my year. They'll be alot of tracks in the future.

Van's fixed

Today I beat Super Punch-Out!!. I did it before, but I used game freezes, so it doesn't count. Now it counts. I even got the good ending. So that's another ROM owned. I beat Kirby's Dream Land 2 a few weeks back. I'm not sure what I wanna play next. There's some RPGs I wanna check out, but I'm not going to start anything new til I beat Mother 3.

Mother 3 rocks.

I need another mindless game. I'll look through the library in a bit. I got so many games to choose from.

So tomorrow, I'm gonna turn on AM radio. And laugh and laugh and laugh. I've been waiting 8 years for tomorrow. It's gonna be a great day.

Been watching alot of sci fi lately. Mostly Dr Who and Battlestar Galactica. Battlestare Galactica is awesome and solid. Dr.Who is cheezy, but entertaining.

On Wednesday I'm gonna do some MagiTek and Tongue Mother recording.

NIN and Green Jelly kicked ass for completely different reasons.

And that's all I gots to say for the Moment.

Haven't updated in a while, so this one will be a two parter...unless it's only one part.

So, I've missed two days of work because I'm having van issues. I'm really pissed that the people who service this stuff suck. I will be dedicating today to getting this resolved.

I really can't stand drawing comics anymore. I'm completely burned out on it and it doesn't make me happy anymore. One of two things needs to happen in order for me to continue Blood Wing. The first option (which is unlikely) will be me getting an artist to continue where I left off. The second option is me just writing out the ending in a text file so the fans get closure and just close the door. That's just how it goes.

MagiTek played a set at the funky49 video premeir and we cursed alot. Then we were told not to curse. Then the set turned wack. Oh well. Lesson learned. We went to funky49's place afterward and hung out with EPP. It was a fun night regardless.

more later....

Life is alright at the moment. I have a few annoying little things to take care of, but it's far from overwhelming.

I love my new apartment. It rocks.

Work has been easy the past week or so. I still hate the place, but money is money. I called out today. Just because I could. Had a relaxing day.

Been reading alot of comics. Lesse. Reread JTHM/SQUEE/I FEEL SICK. At first I was like "Man this isn't as good as I remember." but then I realized that it took a few issues to really get going. It still rocks. 1602 still rocks as well.

Fuck the Dark Cloud.

Seems like the MagiTek tree will soon bear fruit. I love Bear Fruit.

Lately I find drawing Blood Wing so unappealing. I totally bit off more than I can chew with that one. My next comic will be more episodic. Twenty-Five page story. Then it ends. New story starts, with different characters. I'll essentially be drawing 4-5 different series at once. None all that complicated. I'll revive some old shit too. Fuck, they may not even take place in the same universe. Hopefully that will keep me from getting bored.

I spent the better part of this afternoon doing stupid car stuff. I've been having some problems with it. Nothing major or costly. Just annoying to take care of.

Life in the new apartment is very chill. It's nice and cool in here. It's clean and spacious. I'm still figuring the place out, but it should all come together nicely.

I really need a day to just sleep and do nothing. I don't see that happening any time soon though.

So I'm moving tomorrow. I'm totally stressed out about it. I hate moving, but maybe it will be for the better. We'll see.

I read the first 12 issues of Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this week. It was pretty awesome I gotta say. It's a shame I won't be able to read the rest though. There isn't really any trade paperbacks available with that stuff. And Mirage (the publisher) has a really out of date web site. You actually have to print out an order form and mail it in. Lame.

The tall lanky one was Karl. The guy with the patchy beard was Craig. Their names aren't really important. Neither are they really. They were so painfully superfluous that they were leaning against the wall of the bakery sipping coffee and munching on bagels at 11am on a Thursday. If they were just cogs in the machine, it would infer that the machine is inefficient. Perhaps it is.

"So, you see any good bands lately?" Karl asked after sipping is coffee. Their previous conversation went into the realm of ex-girlfriends, and it soon became apparent that that conversation would end badly. The specifics of that situation are even less important than the two men talking, but to cut a long story short, both of their penis's had penetrated the same hole in the same calendar month. Suffice to say that Karl was eager to change the subject and salvage what was left in their morning.

"I saw Blood Wing two weeks ago. That band is awful. I hate this whole hair metal revival that has been happening. Those days are over." Craig was glad the conversation shifted. If the previous discussion had gone on much longer, he would have probably punched Karl in the face. Karl's cup of joe would have inevitably spilled all over Craig's unimportant shirt and he would have felt like an idiot for the rest of the day.

"I saw EPP, last night. They're always fun."

"Yeah, I dig them. Did you hear about Jerry's last party over by the college?"

"With Glover and Lazer kid? Yeah, I heard about that. Cornbread won't stop talking about it. I've never heard of them, but supposedly they played a two hour set with two records, a guy free-styling, and Cornbread beat-boxing."

"Yeah, you'd think that would get boring after a while, but I hear it didn't."

"Man, I wish I went there instead of to Rocky Horror. Luke was telling me that their were some fine hotties there as well."

"Did he get any?"

"Pshht. That guy's a pro. He had a good night."

"I heard that Lazer Kid guy is a bum. Glover too."

"Nah, where would a bum get turn tables? I'll bet that's just an act."

Craig downed the rest of his coffee. It was lukewarm and starting to get nasty. "Pretty cool gimmick if you ask me."

"I'm gonna try and catch them the next time they play. Cornbread says he doesn't know how to get ahold of them, but I'm sure they'll pop up eventually. You wanna go to the go cart track?"

"Sounds like a plan."

And with that our two unnecessary men went on their way. Lazer Kid smiled from inside the refrigerator box in the alley. That night really was legendary. Perhaps he should give Cornbread a call. He'd have to find Glover first though. Glover had been MIA the past couple of weeks. If Lazer Kid could find him then another gig could probably be set up. He hoped it would be soon. Money was getting tight.

Haven't updated in a bit. I spent the day playing God of War II. Felt good to just waste a day playing a video game. Haven't done that in a while. That game is pretty deep action. I must say.

I applied for a job at Sun Trust today. We'll see how it goes. If I don't hear back from them in a few weeks I'll apply at Brighthouse again. It's not the end of the world if I don't find a new job, but it's something I gotta try.

MagiTek played another show last week. It was.....alright. We learned a valuable lesson about having a backup mp3 player. I hope we get another show lined up soon. I wanna put this one behind us.

The MagiTek EP is coming along nicely. I can't wait to get that done. New album material is also getting started. And my little project is coming along nicely as well. Exciting stuff.

Alrighty, I'm going to bed. Everyone stay dry. Looks like Faye saw the enormity of my penis and stayed south of Orlando. Guess I'll just have to fuck the next hurricane that comes around...

I should be drawing now, but I'll get to it in a second. I'm finally starting to not feel burned out on Blood Wing. So I'm slowly starting to draw more. I'm getting some cool ideas for my next comic. It's gonna be very cyber punk. Though, I probably won't be able to get to it for a few more years. I think I bit of a little more than I could chew when I started Blood Wing, but I not one to leave mid meal.

MagiTek is doing well. We released a new song on Rhyme Torrents 7. It's getting a good responce. Our EP is getting wrapped up soon. It's out of my hands at this point. The relic just has to finish mixing it. I would like to be working on artwork or a new site, but I'm lacking the raw materials to do so. We'll probably finish it and have to sit on it's release for a few weeks in order to promote it properly as a result.

We also have a show in a few weeks. More on that as it solidifies.

Shamus and I are working on the grimeyest track.

New Slayers is good.

The Exiles was a good comic book 90% through it. Then it sucked.

The Dark Knight ruled.

The Gothom Knight was cool too.

I think I'm gonna start looking for a new job. Fuck my current job.

I'm moving in with Jared and Becky soon. Good times should ensue.

It's fucking hot in here.

Alright, I'm going to attempt to review my experience at Nerdapalooza this year. Now, I didn't see every band, so if I missed it, I'll just skip it. Every set came so fast, that sometimes you just had to sit a set out and chill.

Shamus and I got there a few minutes late, but I caught the last half of what I assume was the Theme Song Winner. MC Gigahertz made such a simple, but crunk song. My favorite line was probably "Let's Pictochat Mother fucker" over and over again.

And that led right into MisterB's set. MisterB's set was a bit sloppy. Didn't matter though, because the dude's funny as hell. If he messed up it was still really entertaining. His Luigi song was great and I also really got into his song about Genova.

I guess now's a good a time as any to say that I hung out with MisterB a good amount those two days. He's really a cool guy and I'm glad he came out. I think some collaborative seeds were planted between us this weekend.

Alright, next we had Random. Random did a really solid set. It seemed a little short though. Not sure if it was because it was short, or I just enjoyed it and time flies when you have fun. I was really surprised to here him play Metal Man and sing the chorus. His dance was fun too. You know what I mean if you were there.

Then came The Mission VEO. Wasn't my thing, so I hung out in the other room and ate a sandwich.

I think House of Black came next. This was my first exposure to WRock. And I guess I just don't get it. Her music was cool and she had a great voice, but I just don't care for Harry Potter.

Next we had Marc with a C. He was a really funny comedian musician. I enjoyed the heck out of his set. His Myspace song is an instant classic.

chozo_ninpo and Inadequizzy hoped on stage and covered Warp to level 69 by B.E.N.E.F.I.T. Unexpected but cool. Those two were like the Blues Brothers of Nerdcore dressed all in black with sunglasses and black fedoras. Solid set by those two. The Land Down-under Ranger dis track was a pleasant surprise.

I didn't know what to expect from MC Gigahertz. Hooollllyyyy Crap! He runs on stage dressed like Devo. Then he ripped off his Devo jump suit and threw it into the crowd. Underneath that he had on a riddler jacket. So he did his riddler song. He was jumping up and down, bouncing on walls, and rolling on the floor while he rapped. By the time he was done he was shirtless and people were putting dollar bills in his underwear. I've never seen a nerdcore rapper with so much energy. It was absurd.

The energy stayed high after that. funky49 and Redvoid put on the best show I've seen them do so far. Everyone got party streamers and we exploded them at the end of one of his songs. Colon P came up and did MC Router's part in Trekky Pride. She even wore an enterprise shirt. And somewhere in there funky gave me a lap dance. That'll be interesting when the video comes out. I love that guy!

After that Hex played an exclusive 20 min Pixelh8 video. It was cool, but I wish we had some live chiptunes at the show. I love that shit. Maybe next year.

I skipped out on Sudden Death and relaxed in the other room. And I regret it. Everyone I talked to said they kicked ass.

There was a little intermission, then ZeaLous1 went on. Now, Z1 rocked the house last year. This year, he rocked it a little harder. Looks like he's been practicing his beat boxing too. Props to ZeaLous. I think he'll be going places.

RPG jumped on stage next. They have a different dynamic now that Epic-1 is up there. And I think it's an improvement. They played alot of new tracks that I hadn't heard before. Good stuff though.

Schaffer The Darklord rocked the shit out of everybody. The man excelled in every possible aspect of performing. I got his CD and I can't wait to listen to it. Easily the best act there.

Krondor Krew. I've seen KK live many times. Probably seen them more times then any other band in my life. So it's hard for me to say anything about them that I haven't already. I love those guys, and they played a solid set. If you haven't seen Krondor live yet, you should.

I needed a break from music at this point so I sat out Former Fat Boys and Maja. Instead I had a cool conversation with a very drunk MisterB.

Emergency Pizza Party was very different this time around. Betty Rebel couldn't make it due to plane stuff. So we got the awesome surprise of Benjamin Bear and Jaylyn on stage. They played all the old hits. It's a shame they only had a half hour. They could have easily gone on for 2-3 hours with all the talent up there.

MC Frontalot came on last, but I had to get home and go to sleep. MagiTek was opening up on Day 2, and I needed to rest so I wouldn't be a zombie for our set.

Somewhere in there there was also some cool freestyle sessions. Including a battle between Whoremoans and Epic-1. It was friggin awesome. Epic schooled him. Those two are both way better than I'll ever be though, so props to both of them.

I also got to talk to Z from Hipster Please! quite a bit. He's a cool guy who loves the music. I've been reading his blog for about a year now so it was neat to meet him.

I've been writing for 2 hours now. If I have time I'll write day 2 tomorrow.

Lazer Kid got Corn Bread's phone number and started his long walk back to the alley behind the bakery. Slick Ralphy and the girls were long gone. His exit was a great deal less glamorous then his entrance. He would have a long time to think.

Then it hit him. The show was over. He had nothing to look forward to. Lazer Kid hated that feeling. Well first thing's first he thought. Get back to base. Take a nap, ten go vinyl shopping.

If his performance last night was as legendary as everyone said, there would be more shows in the future. Lazer Kid had finally hit the small time. Hitting the small time is a necessary step on the path to hitting the big time. What is the big time you ask? 10:30pm.

Ok! Let's talk books!

"Mother Night" by Kurt Vonnegut - This was one of his more serious works. Great story. Not much to say about it. I enjoyed it.

"Lust Lizard of Melencholy Cove" by Christopher Moore - One of his more silly books. Strait up Pine Cove story. Not a must read, but I liked it.

"Eragon" and "Eldest" by that one smart home schooled kid - Honestly. Reading these 600 page mammoths was like reading a story Matt and I wrote in High School. The writing was strait up bad. Funny thing was though, I got past that. Probably because it reminded me of those poorly written stories Matt and I wrote. And I'm not gonna lie. I'll buy the third book when it comes out. I got sucked in. I recomend this book to people who wrote bad fantasy novels in high school. No one else.

"The Divine Invasion" by Phillip K. Dick - Pretty good. I liked Valis better, but this was a solid follow up. It was a well thought out and smart story.

"God Bless You Mr. Rosewater" by Kurt Vonnegut - Probably my least favorite book I've read by him so far. Very funny, but a bit to preachy for my tastes.

That's all for now. Next post will probably be about life stuff.

Made some big changes in my life reciently. Now getting around is easyer, but money is less plentiful. I really hate my job, but I'm not gonna do anything about it...yet.

My cousin Phil was just in a sewer. That's pretty awesome.

I think I'll be moving in a few months. I hate moving.

MagiTek played a show in a little coffee shop last weekend. I think it was our strongest set yet. Not to many peeps there, but the people who were there seemed to enjoy themselves.

Here is the setlist.

1. Connect
2. Culture Kings
3. Fresh From The Rivers Down Below
4. Wicked Noise
5. Gold Teef for Eerbody (New Song)
6. Zombie Stomp
7. This Toss (First time with Mathaeis)
8. Weapon Select: Quartz Relic (First time in a MagiTek set)
9. Craziest Dreams

The links go to youtube videos of the preformance.

The next big show will be Nerdapalooza. It's a pretty big deal. I suggest you go if you can.

We're gonna start recording an EP tomorrow. More on that as it comes together.

That's all for today. Next time I'll probably talk about books or something.
